quit smoking hypnosis review
February 3rd, 2010 / Author: adminEver try the “Quit Smoking Today” hypnosis program by Robert Mellor?
I just purchased this MP3 and wanted to give it a try. I was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with this and could give me their opinion. The reviews online are great. It does not come with instructions though. Do i quit first and then listen to the audio, or do I just listen and then I will want to quit? Any help, advice, or first hand accounts would be greatly appreciated.
You can not be hypnotized against your will or if you are a resistant subject.
To be hypnotized you have to be willing and wishing.
Apparently hypnosis has worked for some people.

Hypnosis for Smoking Cessation $52.48 One of the first books written for hypnotherapists and NLP practitioners that is devoted entirely to the use of these techniques to help smokers quit their habit. Written by an experienced hypnotherapist, this book includes an overview of the nature of hypnotic transformation and the psychology of the smoker and then goes on to show why it is not enough to enable the smoker to stop during the sessions the therapist must also prepare the client for every situation in the real world to be able to stay a non-smoker for life. Combining Ericksonian hypnotherapy and NLP with techniques taken from cognitive therapy, yoga and stress management, the book shows how to deal with every possible situation in smoking cessation. It shows how to influence the client before each session, how to deal with the client upon arrival to each session, and how to teach self-hypnosis and other techniques which will help maintain the client as a non-smoker after each session. Finally it provides a practical plan for marketing a hypnotherapy smoking cessation service at low cost but high impact. This book is an essential addition to every hypnotherapist’s library and one which readers will refer to again and again in their therapeutic work. A free CD contains two verbatim case studies as well as client handouts that can be reproduced. |

Hypnosis $138.48 This innovative work integrates modern hypnotherapy with Jung’s analytic psychology, successfully linking the skilled practice of hypnosis with the Jungian vision of the human psyche. As developed by Hall, the Jungian conceptualization of hypnosis draws on the theory of psychological complexes and their participation in the sense of self-image that inevitably is a part of the ego. Hall’s succinct yet thorough review of the Jungian model of psychological functioning conveys the essence of Jung’s view of the psyche while elucidating its suitability as a basic framework for hypnotherapy. Examined in particular are Jung’s view of the reality of the psyche, Jungian dream interpretation, and the technique of active imagination. Hall clearly shows how the Jungian understanding of dreams is the basis for an understanding of active imagination, and how active imagination, in turn, serves as the foundation for other imaginal techniques. In this theory, then, hypnosis comes to represent a specialized use of the imaginal ability of the mind. The book’s detailed review of the clinical applications of hypnotherapy within a Jungian model focuses primarily on the two basic types of hypnotic intervention: (1) those that produce artificial complexes in order to modify and counterbalance pathological complexes; and (2) those that help to “dissolve’ complexes from the past that are interfering with current growth and individuation. Other clinically oriented discussions address critical issues concerning transference and countertransference, which may be abruptly manifested during hypnotherapy. In addition to the author’s “suggestions on suggestion,’ there are illuminating case examples and an annotated induction protocol that demonstrate the practical application of the principles described. For the practicing Jungian analyst, HYPNOSIS: A JUNGIAN PERSPECTIVE encourages beneficial cross-fertilization between traditional analysis and hypnotherapy. For the therapist involved with hypnotherapy but unacquainted with Jung, this landmark volume promotes the judicious clinical application of basic Jungian principles. |

How I Quit Smoking $11.98 Performers: Paul Niehaus – Guitar (Double Neck); John Delworth – Farfisa Organ, Organ (Hammond); Mike Doster – String Bass; Hank Tilbury – Banjo; Steve Goodhue – Guitar; Allen Lowrey – Drums; Jonathan Marx – Clarinet, Cornet, Sax (Alto), Vocals; Pamela Sixfin – Violin; Deanna Varagona – Sax (Alto), Sax (Baritone), Vocals; Kurt Wagner – Guitar, Guitar (Classical), Guitar (Electric)Lambchop hails from Nashville and claims to play a “refined, and redefined” style of country music, but the songs the band creates on its second album, How I Quit Smoking, have more in common with Brit crooners the Tindersticks than Chet Atkins and Billy Sherrill (whom the Lambchop members claim as heroes). Boasting 13 players on this album, Lambchop feels more like an art collective on a mission of enlightenment than a country band bent on AM airplay. Still, with subtlely threads of clarinet, sax, organ, and even a full string section integrated into the mix alongside a double-necked lap steel and an impressive lineup of vintage guitars, the music is so lush, lovely, and thoroughly hypnotic you can see their point. The country element lies buried in the subtle rhythms and melodies, surfacing in the quiet moan of the lap steel or the melancholic flutter of the strings. Spooky as often as it is soothing, Lambchop’s music may not be the fireside countrypolitan of Atkins or Sherrill — I don’t think either would put up with the babbling rhymes of “Smuckers,” the sinister guitars that mark “The Militant,” or the existential undercurrents of “The Scary Caroler.” But this is music that will lull you to sleep like a cup of Sleepytime tea as much as it will give you dreams to remember. ~ Kurt Wolff, All Music Guide |

Hypnosis In The Relief Of Pain $52.48 Reissued by Brunner/Mazel Publishers, this universally acclaimed volume ? based on both experimental studies and clinical practice ? provides a remarkably well?rounded examination of the application of hypnosis to pain relief. Written by a psychologist and a psychiatrist noted for their expertise as both practitioners and researchers, the book illustrates how hypnosis can significantly alleviate the pain of childbirth, medical or dental surgery, burns or other accidental injuries, cancer, and chronic syndromes. With over 600 references covering the field of modern research into the mechanisms of pain, the authors convey a thorough understanding of findings and limitations of available empirical studies. Yet the book remains exceptionally clear and non?technical and will appeal not only to professionals involved with pain reduction but to lay people as well. The Hilgards address a broad spectrum of topics relating to hypnosis and pain, ranging from an historical review to a consideration of future areas for investigation. They thoughtfully tackle the controversy still surrounding the nature of hypnosis ? is it an altered state of consciousness or a pattern of behaviour adopted by both subject and hypnotist? The concluding section presents the Hilgards’ neo?dissociation theory of hypnosis as well as a highly useful technique for assessing susceptibility in clinical situations. Pain has been called the greatest unsolved problem in medicine. Hypnosis in the Relief of Pain, with its honest and complete appraisal of the role of hypnosis on pain reduction, will contribute significantly to the understanding and broader use of this noninvasive and natural healing phenomenon. |
